Hello Hannah Penn Pre-K-8 family!
My name is Manoucheka Merisca and it is my pleasure to serve as the Assistant Principal. Born in Haiti, I moved to the United States in 1997, living in New York City for eight years before relocating to Rochester, NY. I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, NY, where I taught for two years before moving to Rochester. There, I taught grades 1-12 for over 19 years, focusing primarily on Math and Science. In 2020, I moved to Pennsylvania and taught middle school Math and Science for one year at the Central Dauphin School District. I have served as an Assistant Principal in the School District of the City of York for the past two years.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Staten Island College, a Master's degree in Inclusive Education from Nazareth College, and a second Master's degree in Urban Leadership from Bank Street College of Education. Currently, I am pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Bowie State University. As a lifelong learner, my hope is that my efforts will inspire every student at Hannah Penn to reach for the stars. Here at Hannah Penn Pre-K-8, ALL students will be able to acquire the life-long knowledge, skills, and values needed to make great contributions to their community and wherever life takes them.
On a personal note, I am a dedicated wife and mother of three children: a high school daughter who is a senior, a sixth-grade son, and a two-year-old daughter.
We thank you for entrusting us with your child. If you have any questions or need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to serve you!
Let’s have a great school year!
