Dr. LeTrecia Gloster, Ed.D.

Dr. LeTrecia Gloster is an educator with over 20 years of experience as a teacher, instructional leader, principal, and district leadership leader. She received her B.S. in Mathematics Education, M.S. in Educational Administration and Supervision, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. In partnership with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), she is a proud graduate of Howard University’s Urban Superintendent’s Academy – Cohort 3.

Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, Dr. Gloster began her teaching career as a Mathematics Teacher. After six years of teaching middle school and high school mathematics, she became a Secondary Assistant Principal and then Principal. She provided leadership and supervision in rural, suburban, and urban middle and high schools. As a pivotal moment in her career, Dr. Gloster rose to become a Turnaround Principal of the middle school she attended, which nurtured her academic curiosity as an adolescent student. Through her leadership, she organized and established programs to support the Title I school, which transformed the educational experience for students. She focused on climate and culture, instructional leadership and instructional programming through the inception of Ninth Grade Academy, Academy of Engineering, and led the transformational classroom practices through technology integration and online blended learning. She further mentored and supported many aspiring leaders to transition into the field of school administration.

Dr. Gloster is currently the Assistant Superintendent of The School District of the City of York. Her experience as a transformational school leader supports her work with Federal Programs, principal supervision, leadership development, district-wide data analysis and assessments, a focus on educational technology, and building sustainable systems of support for English Language Learners. Prior to this role, she most recently served as the Executive Director of School Support and Improvement for the Schools of Innovation in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Through her leadership, over 67% of the Priority Schools she supervised met the requirement of exiting the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) designated priority school list. In this role, she supervised Principals of Priority Schools on the K-12 continuum and led a department of Instructional Coordinators, Data Coaches, and Title I Analysts to support this work which aligned to the highest-needs schools in the district. She further has experience as a Director of Learning where she supported the leadership development of aspiring Principals and new Assistant Principals.

LeTrecia continues to understand the importance of her civic and community duties and remains active in the Prince George’s County Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Dr. Gloster is passionate about cultivating the lives of black and brown girls and women and providing them with opportunities of access. She has served as a mentor to countless students and colleagues that she has previously taught, led, or supervised. Most importantly, Dr. Gloster is happily married and is the proud mother of two daughters, Haleigh (12) & Logan (7).
