About the Office of Human Resources:

The Office of Human Resources at the School District of the City of York provides customer service to applicants for employment as well as more than 700 district professionals and support members in the areas of employment opportunities, general employment-related questions, labor and employee relations, worker's compensation, certification, benefits, compensation and any other employment-related inquiries.

Director of Human Resources:

Robert S. Bernhard 

Rob joined the School District of the City of York in January of 2013 as the Human Resources Specialist and had served as the Acting Director of Human Resources prior to his current position. He brings 31 years of human resources leadership experience in both private and public sector business environments, both domestically and internationally. He has also served as Director of Occupational Health at a local hospital.

Reporting to Rob in the Office of Human Resources are Traci Wright, Human Resources Specialist, Cindy Sweeney, Manager of Benefits and Records, and Executive Assistant, Ronda Taylor.

Rob earned a Bachelor’s Degree from York College of Pennsylvania and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, (SHRM), the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO), and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA). In addition to his role in the district, Rob is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors at Family First Health, where he also served on the Executive and Governance Committees, former President of the Board of Directors at the York County Children’s Advocacy Center, a former member of the Board of Directors of Leadership York, where he also served as Chairman of the Leadership Training Program Planning Committee, and volunteers at the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. He is also a Charter Member of the Uptown York Rotary Club.

Rob lives in York and is the proud father of two grown children. He is also the proud grandfather of 3.
