Dr. Jones is an administrator in The School District of the City of York in York, PA.
His previous work and experiences have taken place in diverse educational settings of different levels and backgrounds.
Dr. Jones began his post-secondary journey at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, PA where he studied Applied Mathematics and minored in Quantitative Business Analysis. It was here, where his love for mathematics and passion for education developed. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in 2009 and continued at Robert Morris to complete his Master's Degree in 2011, with a Master's of Science Degree in Instructional Leadership with a focus in Educational Technology. Dr. Jones later continued his academic journey by enrolling in the Doctorate of Education program at Widener University in Chester, PA. He completed his degree in May of 2009, in K-12 Instructional Leadership with a focus in Curriculum Development and Educational Technology. He successfully defended his dissertation entitled:
Examining Perceptions of Teachers and Support Staff on the Impact School Leaders have on Culture and Climate in an At-Risk Learning Environment. The combination of his academic experiences, coupled with his professional working experiences, has developed Dr. Jones into a continued life-long learner with a passion for academic achievement and urban education.
Dr. Jones' has a diverse working experience in teaching and in administration throughout Pennsylvania and Connecticut, working in the unique educational settings of suburban, urban, alternative education, therapeutic education, higher education and more, which have prepared him to be the Transformative/Servant Leader he is today. These experiences, and others, have shaped Dr. Jones to carry the mindset that all students can learn and any staff member can be successful, when supported in the proper culture and climate.
Dr. Jones is supported by his mother and father, Ramona and Michael, brother, Marcelous, and sisters, Maureen and Meshael, along with his nieces and nephews. Most importantly, he is supported by his loving wife, Raquel Jones and sons, Maurice Jr. and Micah. He lives and operates by the phrase, "putting God first in everything that you do", and strongly believes that all things, no matter how great or small, happen for a reason. His passion and life's work is dedicated to improving education along with shifting school's culture and climate in a positive way.
